Almost two years after Katy Perry and Russell Brand tied the knot in India, the ex-couple are now divorced. Brand filed for divorce from the pop star in December, and it was finalized on Monday (July 16).

According to E! News although Perry and Brand reached their divorce agreement back in February, by California law, they had to wait six months for the union to be officially dissolved. Brand’s filing, which cited irreconcilable differences, came just 14 months after their lavish ceremony in front of family and friends. The exes famously hooked up after flirting at the 2009 MTV VMAs.

Katy Perry is set to extend her fragrance brand this November with the launch of a second scent, which will be available exclusively at Nordstrom and on nordstrom.com. Created in partnership with Perry’s fragrance licensee, Gigantic Parfums, the scent is intended to be a companion piece to the recording artist’s first fragrance, Purr, which debuted a year ago and is now available in 54 countries. Perry created her second fragrance while on her “California Dreams” World Tour. As for its name, Perry is giving her fans a bit of a tease: Beginning next week via Twitter, she will invite them to guess. The winners will then be selected at random to receive various prizes, including bottles of perfume, and the potential to meet Perry at a launch event in December.

With the announcement of a sixth single from her Teenage Dream album, Katy Perry‘s record-breaking winning streak may very well continue.

Perry currently ties with King of Pop Michael Jackson‘s record for the most Billboard Hot 100 number one singles from one album (“California Gurls,” “E.T.,” “Firework,” “Teenage Dream” and “Last Friday Night”). Her latest single, “The One That Got Away,” was quietly released over the weekend and is currently being serviced to radio. While Perry’s fans were leaning toward “Hummingbird Heartbeat” in particular for the next release, her label felt “The One That Got Away” may have the best chance on the charts.

“I’m so pleased to select ‘The One That Got Away’ as my sixth single because this song shows a very different side of me that I haven’t shown with my past singles on this record,” Perry says. “I think everyone can relate to this song. I wrote this song about when you promise someone forever, but you end up not being able to follow through. It’s a bittersweet story; hopefully, the listener learns from hearing it and never has to say they had ‘The One’ get away.”

Van Andel Arena has confirmed that the Katy Perry concert scheduled for Sunday night has been postponed. The singer is sick with a respiratory infection. The concert has been rescheduled for Thursday, December 1st. Van Andel Arena says all tickets will be honored for the rescheduled date.
